The ongoing Big Drought of 2012 is the largest in America in over 50 years.
More than half (54.6%) of America’s contiguous 48 states was in drought at the end of June. That’s the highest percentage of area afflicted by drought since December 1956, and the 6th largest peak percentage on record. [Source: weather.com]
As evidenced by people living in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and ever-increasing areas in other parts of the country, the drought condition is reaching critical status. Cattle are being auctioned off; crops have burned up; and drinking water is becoming a concern.
This is a prayer for rain for those dry areas of America. Please join us in this prayer circle. Let’s make this one of the largest prayer circles ever.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You said whenever any two or more come together and ask in Your Son’s name, it shall be given.
We come to you, humbly, and ask that you bring down the rain onto our parched lands. All of your Creation — farmers, ranchers, exhausted firefighters, the many wildlife and trees — are in desperate need.
We ask this all in Jesus’ name.
