Boys get lessons in how to spot ‘sluts’

Outraged parents say a New York middle school instructed young female students to ask one another for a lesbian kiss – and boys learned how to spot young sluts – in an anti-bullying presentation on gender identity and sexual orientation, according to Fox News’ Todd Starnes.

According to Starnes’ Report, the children attended a special April 11 health class taught by college students at Linden Avenue Middle School in Red Hook, N.Y. Parents say they were not notified of the presentation.

The students were introduced to terms such as “pansexual” and “genderqueer.”

Some of the young female students said they were told it was common for 14-year-old girls to have sex and their parents couldn’t stop them.

For those of you that may not have had your morning coffee or tea yet, in the right margin you will see the phrase ‘new all.’

-Notice it appears not just once, but twice.

And many seem so puzzled as to why American kids are falling so far behind the rest of the world educationally, despite the fact that this country spends far more per student than any other nation on Earth.

Update: I did not listen to the show on Friday, which was when the call was on the air live, but I heard them discussing it today, and they both sounded pretty adamant that this was a misspelling of the word “knew.”

And judging from the misspelled signs at teacher protest rallies in Chicago last week, I would say this is not just a problem here in Georgia.

Sexpert says schools should teach teens about “pleasurable moaning”

A so-called sex expert (“sex educator, writer, speaker, consultant”) named Cory Silverberg extolls masturbation as “the cornerstone of sexual health” and says sex ed in schools should include instructions on “pleasurable moaning.”

Peter Baklinski reports for LifeSiteNews, May 1, 2012, that Silverberg told the Star last week that sex education in schools needs to become more graphic and explicit if it is to be relevant to today’s generation of kids.

Cory Silverberg, a sex educator from Toronto, told the Star’s Ann Douglas, “Teenagers need to know what pleasure looks and sounds like — pleasurable moaning, asking for more — in order to be sure that a partner is providing enthusiastic consent to sex.”

Silverberg suggested that conversations about pornography should become part of an updated sex ed curriculum: not to warn children of the dangers, backed by research, that are inherent in the use of pornography, but to make children aware of the “stereotypical views about how men and women should interact sexually.”

Silverberg also want parents to talk to their teens about “pleasurable moaning,”  so that the teens will be able to interpret the “pleasurable moaning” of an intoxicated or passed out sexual partner as a sign of sexual consent. “Can you really speak up for yourself if you’ve had so much to drink you’re completely passive or passed out, for instance? People need to be sure that their partners are actually saying yes.”

Silverberg is the same “sexpert” who is is about to publish a children’s book, aimed at children from pre-school through 8-years-old, which portrays the dozens of alternative methods that can be used to create a new human life (about 30 according to the author). The book will also be accompanied by a teacher’s resource to assist its implementation in a school setting.

In discussing the book, Silverberg disparages traditional stories that tell what he calls a “nice story (mommy + daddy + intercourse = you!)” adding, “more and more of us are acknowledging the help we get to bring children into our lives. That help might be a doctor, fertility clinic, adoption or foster agency; it might be a turkey baster and a friend; it might be a sperm donor or a surrogate.”

Obama is not the problem

We are.

Obama is Not the Problem

Anyone subscribing to the mailing lists of American conservative groups will notice that every day their emails come rolling in with a steady drumbeat of Obama… Obama… Obama…

Obama, the Socialist. Obama the Marxist. Obama the Muslim-appeaser. Obama the late-term abortionist. Obama the destroyer of the American economy. And on and on and on.

There’s nothing wrong with what they send; it’s all fact-based material. But the obsession with Barack Hussein Obama misses the point about what’s wrong with America.

An anonymous email that has been making the rounds recently hits the nail on the head:

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Barack Hussein is not the disease. Barack Hussein is the symptom.

Despite all the cemeteries that were emptied to vote for him, no matter how many ACORN workers were set to work forging absentee ballots, regardless of the legions of homeless people bused to the polling places and paid in wine and cigarettes to pull the lever for Hope and Change — ignoring all the fraud and manipulation, about half the voting populace wanted him to be their president. And, more than a year later, despite all the dire events that have occurred since the inauguration, almost half the country still approves of him.

Obama is not the problem.

To use a term coined by Richard Brookhiser in National Review, Barack Obama represents the “Numinous Negro” to guilty white Americans. He is the righteous savior with the café-au-lait complexion who can raise his well-manicured hand and offer the boon of negro forgiveness to all of us white oppressors. As Shelby Steele says, he promises redemption to white people.

We elected him to purge ourselves of the sin of racism, and if we were to repudiate him now we would be returning to our sinful racist ways. So we will stick with him through thick and thin, though all his megalomaniacal destructiveness, right up until the moment when he extends his arms, pushes the pillars over, and brings the whole temple crashing down on our heads.

There are a lot of reasons why Obama can pull his sleight-of-hand on us with such contemptuous and cavalier ease. Two generations of dumbed-down propaganda in our education system gave him a head start. His success was facilitated by a political culture that detached itself decades ago from any vestige of the Constitution, and which has left our national leaders more than ready to sacrifice the good of the country on the altar of Mammon. An electorate that derives all its political information from network television and the Jon Stewart Show is an easy mark for a huckster with a smooth line, not to mention that longed-for promise of racial redemption.

But the biggest reason for Obama’s success is the dominance of the Left in all of the major national media outlets. With all those Marxists burrowed into every nook and cranny of the broadcast media and cable news networks, with all the major newspapers and the newsmagazines now wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Democratic party, there was no way that Obama could lose.

If there had been any real journalists doing real investigative work, an empty suit like Obama would never have made it through the primaries, much less the general election. But a fully subservient press suppressed the bad news, magnified or created the good news, and made sure that nothing resembling reality was allowed into the story to mar the postmodern “narrative” of Hope and Change.

A couple of weeks ago, in a totally unrelated thread, commenter doom-and-gloom gave this excellent summary of the way the modern mass media operate in today’s West:

They didn’t actually say [the man who brought a gun to the Obama rally] was a white racist, that’s the sweet trick about it. It’s a method I pointed out in another thread — manipulating information in a way that’ll give the audience the desirable false impression without literally lying. The media treat all the protests against Obama’s policies as “white lunatics fueled by racial hatred”. They had to hide the black guy’s skin color because it would have interfered with the message they wanted their viewers to get. So, they used a black man carrying a gun to “prove” the protesters are dangerous white racists, but they didn’t actually say he was a white racist, so technically they didn’t lie — can you get any more cynical than that?

Not that they are above lies and fabrications. For instance, there was a Dutch TV item about Islamophobia showing a Muslim woman carrying a bag of oranges, then she dropped the bag and no one of the people passing by stopped to help her pick up the oranges. As it happened, there was another TV crew from another channel that just happened to be there doing something else and they caught the entire thing on film. Turns out that people did stop by to help her, but every time someone approached her the TV crew asked them to leave. You see, they wanted to “document” the terrible Islamophobia in the Netherlands and all these nice non-Islamophobic Dutch people wanting to help a Muslim woman were ruining their “evidence”, how annoying of them!

“Fake, but accurate” — remember? The journalists just “know” a priori that there is Islamophobia, so they don’t need to actually check if it exists, they just need to “prove” it to the public. And that’s how it is with every subject they “cover” — they “know” what the “reality” is and they “know” what should be done about it, so they don’t need to actually report the news, they just need to make the audience believe whatever the “reporters” believe is true, create public “opinion” and promote the “reporters”‘ desirable policies, candidates and election results. And they will stop at nothing to get there.

There are lots and lots of examples of various ways of deception — from bias and subtle manipulations to straight lies and fabrications. It seems to be the norm rather than the exception. There are no real reporters. After all the lies I saw I don’t believe anything the media “reports”. In terms of quality and reliability there is no difference between professional journalism and amateur blogs. There are no reliable information sources. All of them — professional and amateur — are about advancing some political agenda.

It’s a terrible thing for democracy when there is no real journalism, when the reporters betray their vocation and their vital role in the democratic order. The more people find out they are lied to, the more they will turn to alternative information sources, but the alternative sources are just as bad. It will all descend into chaos.

The MSM problem – and the cure
We’re all familiar with the staged news produced by “Pallywood”, the Palestinian propaganda masters who conspire with sympathetic cameramen and reporters for various wire services to produce fake news that implicates Israel. But the entire Western mainstream media are simply Pallywood writ large — much more sophisticated, much more technically accomplished, and much, much better funded.

As for alternative information sources — we’re working on that right here. We’re biased and proud of it, but even so we do our best to get those stubborn facts right. When we goof, our readers point it out promptly, and we have to retract and post a correction. It’s a blog-eat-blog world.

The educational institutions are an entirely different problem. Even if the rot were reversed right now, and all the Marxists forced onto the dole — fat chance! — it would take at least a generation for the pernicious legacy of institutional propaganda to fade out and be replaced with a cohort of truly educated citizens.

I’ve been working for a couple of years on an idea for an alternative to existing educational institutions — call it the “Virtual Open University” — which would be untainted by teachers’ colleges, the NEA, tenure, accreditation, and all the other baneful entrenched practices that have enabled the creation of a nation of sheep.

A Must-Read Book for Your Library: Holy Warriors

The older I get the more I continue to become amazed by how much of a joke public education is. As a public school survivor of the 1990s, I can attest that our children’s books lie to them, early and often, about the most fundamental things.

They lie about climate change. They lie about the Pilgrims. They lie about the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression. They lie about evolution. They lie about the roots of communism. And they really lie about Europe.

During my teen years I essentially believed what I was told. But after I dedicated my life to Christ, I took quite seriously the Bible’s warning that the world is not to be trusted.

As I began to do independent research in my 20s, I started questioning many things once thought obvious. My friends thought I was crazy, but I suddenly saw no need to care.

Then one day in 2003 I was discussing these things with a friend, and we started debating the reliability of the Bible as a historical document. My friend argued that it was just some papers written by guys with an agenda. I promptly shot back. What if other people at other times had agendas and wrote papers of their own, and you’re the one naive enough to believe them?

He pressed me for an example of something that naive people believe without question. Without stopping to think, I blurted out a bombshell: maybe the Spanish government did not send Christopher Columbus in search of India. Maybe they were using him to find something else.

My friend was flabbergasted.  Never did anyone question their knowledge of European history. It wasn’t just wrong to think you misunderstood Columbus – it was wrong to doubt the entire mosaic of Mideval Europe. Maybe some other periods are fuzzy, but everyone knows exactly what happened in Europe. I had stumbled upon a golden goose that I was not allowed to touch.

For the record, I’m not here to tell you Spain lied about Columbus. That particular theory might have been half-baked… but it liberated me to realize that it was okay to question conventional wisdom about the Dark Ages.

Ask a typical public school student about European history and you’ll get an answer like this:

The Romans made everyone be Catholic. Then some German barbarians got angry and chased them out. Then the whole continent sat in dark oblivion for 500 years. Some guy named Charlemagne built a new government and taught people how to read. As soon as they learned about the world again, they didn’t like that whole Islam thing, so they started a war with the Muslims. Then Christopher Columbus tried to invade India, but missed and ended up in Central America. Queen Elizabeth sent some English people over there, George Washington was born, and the rest is history.

Does that sound familiar?

Public school students today are not being taught about the roots of Al Qaeda, the history of Israel, or precisely why it is that bin Laden wanted them dead.

So it’s not a surprise that they don’t know anything about the original jihad carried out in Europe long before Christopher Columbus.

If you have such a young adult in your family, I recommend buying the book Holy Warriors by John J O’Neill.

This book, thoroughly backed by evidence, proves that the Dark Ages started in Europe conveniently at the same time Muslim conquerers arrived. It defends the origins of the Crusades. It shows that Europeans really weren’t that stupid, Muslims really weren’t that tolerant, and conventional wisdom about the Dark Ages is mostly PC jibberish.

It is a must-read to understand where Islam is going in Europe today.

Massachusetts Schools to Have Muslim Holiday

According to Wikipedia, the majority of Americans (76%) identify themselves as Christians (51% Protestants; 25% Catholic). Non-Christian religions (including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism), collectively make up about 4% to 5% of the adult population. [source]

Once very small, the Muslim population of the US increased greatly in the 20th century, with much of the growth driven by rising immigration and conversion. South Asians Muslims from India and Pakistan and Arabs make up the biggest group of Muslims in America at 60–65% of the population. Native-born American Muslims are mainly African American converts who make up a quarter of the total Muslim population. Despite all this, Muslims comprise less than 2% of the U.S. population. So it is curious indeed that the public school system of Cambridge, Massachusetts, decided to close down its schools for one day a year as a Muslim holiday. What happened to the separation of church and state that the Left always invoke when it comes to anything Christian? What next? A public school holiday for Satanists?

Cambridge is one of the most liberal cities in America. Its residents jokingly refer to it as “The People’s Republic of Cambridge.” Indeed, in 2008, 58.43% of Cantabrigians (what residents of Cambridge call themselves) registered Democrat, 35.43% were Unaffiliated or Independents, while only 5.07% were Republicans.

As a Muslim and a high school senior at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, 17-year-old Dunia Kassay faces a tough choice every year on Islamic holy days: go to school or stay home to be with family and friends. If she stays home, Kassay says, she will be forced to play catch-up and make up her school assignments. But if she goes to school, she will be neglecting what she feels is her religious obligation on holidays such as Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. “It’s really conflicting,’’ Kassay said. “Instead of fasting for a month and enjoying this really big day, eating and going to family’s houses, it’s kind of like, ‘Oh, hey, guys, I’ve got to go do my homework.’’’

But beginning next year, Cambridge public schools will attempt to make it easier for Muslim students to honor their highest holy days. In a move that school officials believe is the first of its kind in the state, Cambridge will close schools for one Muslim holiday each year beginning in the 2011-2012 school year.

The school will either close for Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, depending on which holiday falls within the school year. If both fall within the school calendar, the district will close for only one of the days.

The school district’s decision, announced last month, was made as the national discussion about Islam continues, fueled by a Mosque proposal two blocks from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Florida preacher Terry Jones’s threat to burn a Koran. The discussion has also touched local schools, as Wellesley school officials drew criticism recently for a video that showed sixth-grade students kneeling during a prayer service at a Boston mosque during a field trip in May.

But Cambridge School Committee member Marc McGovern, who pushed for the Muslim holiday in city schools, said he thinks people need to take a step back from what he called hysteria and the stereotypes of all Muslims as terrorists. “At a time when I think the Muslim population is being characterized with a broad brush in a negative way, I think it’s important for us to say we’re not going to do that here,’’ McGovern said.

Cambridge schools already close for some Christian and Jewish holidays, and McGovern said he believes Muslims should be treated equally. “The issue that sort of came up was should we celebrate any religious holidays, but there was not the will to take away Good Friday or one of the Jewish holidays,’’ he said. “So I said, if that is the case, I think we have an obligation to celebrate one of the Muslim holidays, as well.’’

State and federal laws require schools to make reasonable accommodation of the religious needs of students and in observance of holy days, but the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education leaves the decision about how to do that up to individual school districts because they “know best about the needs and unique demographic makeup of their student population and community,’’ said JC Considine, a spokesman for the department.

If a school district has a large number of students who observe Good Friday and would not attend school that day, Considine said the districts are allowed to close because of the expected low attendance. But the state does require districts to schedule at least 180 days of school.

Cambridge School Superintendent Jeffrey Young said the district does not collect information about the religion of its students. But Young said that there is a significant Muslim population in the city, and that, at least anecdotally, the Muslim population in the schools appears to be growing.

A large Muslim population is one of the reasons why the school district in Dearborn, Mich., began closing schools for high Islamic holy days 10 years ago, said David Mustonen, communications coordinator for the school system. Mustonen said that at first there were some people in the community who didn’t like the schools being closed on Eid holidays. “However, I don’t think this is the case anymore as people have come to realize that it is no different then taking time off at Christmas or Easter,’’ Mustonen said in an e-mail.

In September, public schools in Burlington, Vt., also closed on Eid al-Fitr for the first time, said Dan Balon, director of the school district’s diversity and equity office. Balon said there is an increasing Muslim population in the schools, and the district decided to close on the holiday rather than risk low attendance rates and force students to decide between school and staying home to celebrate the holiday.

Glenn Koocher, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, said that to his knowledge Cambridge would be the first school district in Massachusetts to close schools for a Muslim holiday. “Somebody has to be first,’’ said Koocher. “I suspect there may be heightened interest in this. We’ll see how this plays out.’’ [....]

US Public School Students Learn to Pray to Allah

Public prayers and mentions of God (Christ) and of Intelligent Design are verboten in America’s public schools, but Allah is okay! More than okay, a group of public school students actually took a field trip to a mosque where they learnt to pray to Allah — that all-powerful “god” who is beyond reason and human comprehension and who enjoins his believers to undertake violent jihad in his name.

In late May of 2010, Wellesley, Massachusetts public middle school students took a field trip to the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center – a controversial Saudi-funded mega-mosque run by the Muslim American Society of Boston. There, the students were separated by gender and the boys were asked to join the Muslim adults in their prayer. Several of the public school boys took part.
