Pentecost Sunday

Before He ascended into Heaven, Jesus the Christ promised us:

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.” Matthew 28:20

To that end, we are sent the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity.

“On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, ‘Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. As Scripture says:

“Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me.”

He said this in reference to the Spirit that those who came to believe in him were to receive.” -John 7:37-39

Today is Pentecost Sunday, in memory of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the 11 remaining Apostles of Christ.

The Holy Spirit gives each of us certain charisms or gifts. Use them well — for the day will come when we each will be held to account for how we had used those gifts.

Peace and Love,
