Who on “our side” stayed home yesterday?

Despite both media and personal FOTM eye-witness reports of very long lines in many polling places yesterday, we are told that voter turnout in the 2012 presidential election was 13 million fewer than in 2008.

Mitt Romney won 3 million votes less than John McCain in 2008, while Obama lost 10 million votes of his own from 2008.

Kevin DuJan of HillBuzz asks “So where did those 3 million McCain voters go?”

They surely didn’t vote for Obama yesterday.

DuJan writes, “The only thing I can think of is this.” Either Ron Paul supporters sat the election out because of what happened in the Republican National Convention between Romney’s people and Paul’s delegates, and/or Evangelicals went through with their threat to sit home because Romney is a Mormon.

Certainly Ron Paul never gave Mitt Romney his endorsement. In fact, on election day yesterday, Paul’s website actively sought to discourage Paulists from voting by publishing his essay, “Ron Paul: No Difference Between Obama and Romney“.

As for the Evangelicals, did many stay home in spite of Christian evangelist Bill Graham’s full-page ad in the New York Times endorsing Romney?

DuJan is incredulous: “And these two groups thought allowing Obama to have a second term was worth sitting home. Is that what happened? I never thought that was a realistic possibility because I can’t imagine ever allowing the Left to not just maintain power but actually expand their reach…but that’s what happened last night.”

What I do know is that I haven’t seen “dan,” a Ron Paul supporter and longtime regular FOTM commenter, come on FOTM for many weeks now. His last comment was on October 9, 2012, nearly a month ago. And as late as yesterday morning, a commenter who calls himself Joe had voiced his misgivings about voting for Romney because of the latter’s Mormon “polytheism.”

UPDATE (Nov. 8, 2012):

What some commenters to this post wrote, as well as an essay by self-described Ron Paul follower, financial consultant Ron Holland of The Daily Bell, make clear that indeed Paul cultists should be partly held responsible for “our side” losing this election. Here’s what Holland wrote:

“…the GOP leadership antagonized the 10 percent of the Republican Party electorate who supported Ron Paul for President. Of course, the establishment is still deathly scared of the Ron Paul movement and their harsh treatment and the subsequent blowback on November 6 guarantees any discussion here will be verboten and seldom mentioned for obvious reasons. While some voted for Romney, a few – as the returns show – voted third-party and many like me just sat home on election day disgusted at the entire political charade. Romney lost because he needed a majority of this 10 percent to win yet those controlling his campaign simply threw this voting block away because it threatened powerful central banking, neocon and moneyed interests supporting the GOP.”

As if all that was at stake in this election is central banking. You Ron Paul cultists make me sick. By staying home on election day, you helped reelect the devil — the most pro-abortion president in the history of U.S.A.

Evangelical Christians did not stay home on Nov. 6. They turned out for Mitt Romney in even larger numbers than they did in 2008 for John McCain. See my post, “Evangelicals and faithful Catholics came through for Romney.“

Breakdown Of Demographics Shows Obama In Trouble

Barack Obama is not winning any voting bloc he lost in 2008, and he is not doing better with any bloc he did win four years ago.

Nevertheless, the “experts” keep telling us that this race is tied or that Obama is leading. The only way to explain these “expert’” pronouncements is that Obama has captured the coveted Power Ranger vote.  Hey, if dead people and illegal aliens can’t vote anymore, toy dummies must be filling in the gaps for the real ones! As to real people, here’s the truth of where they stand on Obama.

1) Catholics

A recent Pew poll found Obama went from up 9 points to down 5 points with Catholics  since March. This translates to a shift of 18 million voters.

2) Evangelicals

An April Pew poll found Evangelical Christians favor Mitt Romney 73/20, and white Catholics support him 57/37.

3) Jews

A Knowledge Networks poll conducted March 14-27 found Obama getting just 61% of Jewish support. No Democrat has ever won while getting 67% or less of the Jewish vote.

4) Young voters

In 2008, Obama won young voters 66/32. Today, the support for Obama among young voters has been measured at just  48/41, but more importantly, young voters  have little enthusiasm to vote. Today, at best, 56% said they would vote compared to 78% who said the same in spring of 2008.

5) Women

In 2008, Obama won the female vote 56/43. Monday’s Gallup poll found Obama ahead with women by 49/42.

6) Men

Obama is losing men 50/42. In 2008, Obama lost men 49/48.

7) African Americans, Hispanics

In April, Gallup found Obama’s support among Blacks at 85% (down 5 points) and Hispanic support also down 5 points to 54%.

8) Veterans

In 2008, John McCain won the veteran vote 55/45. Monday’s Gallup poll found Obama losing 58/34.

9) White voters

Obama’s approval among white voters was 34% last month. It was 37% on Election Day 2010, a bloodbath for Democrats.

10) Union workers

Obama got 59% of the union household vote in 2008. That percentage actually went up in 2010 (61%), but it did them little good because the percentage of union voters fell 4% from 2008.  

11) Fraudulent/dead

In April, Reuters lamented, “ New state laws designed to fight voter fraud could reduce the number of Americans signing up to vote in this year’s presidential election by hundreds of thousands, a potential problem for President Barack Obama’s re-election bid.” Rock The Vote, a national voter registration project, has withdrawn from Florida because the Sunshine State’s anti-voter fraud laws are too tough to beat.

12) Big donors

Obama’s Big PACs are raising only a fraction of what Republican PACs are putting together for November.

13) Rank-and-file Democrats

The recent primaries in West Virginia (where a federal inmate got 40% of the vote against Obama), Arkansas (where an unknown Democrat got 42% against him), and Kentucky (where “uncommitted” got 40% against Obama) shows he has little support from rank-and-file Democrats.

So who are these “experts” interviewing?

Obama appoints Jew-hater as Atrocities Czar

Obama just appointed a fox to guard the hen-house.

Stephen Frank of California Political News & Views writes, April 25, 2012:

Obama must really hate Israel and Jews.  He has appointed an hater of Israel to chair an “Atrocities Prevention Board”, though she wanted to invade Israel and turn it over to terrorists.

Power was a foreign policy adviser to the Obama campaign in 2008 when she blamed the Jews for the criticism of then Candidate Obama’s foreign policy platform.

“There will be situations where the priority is self-defence,” she says, indicating that a preference for multilateralism only goes so far. “President Obama, like every other leader on earth, is still going to be looking out for national and economic interests. States don’t cease to be states overnight just because they get a great visionary as their new president.” But it is politically impossible for Obama to talk to Hamas, even if he wants to. She can’t say that, though, especially when vicious internet smears are making lurid allegations about his “Muslim past”….”So much of it is about: ‘Is he going to be good for the Jews?’”

Another bigot in the Administration.  George Wallace must be proud.

In 2002 she sat for an interview with Harry Kreisler, the director of the Institute for International Studies at Berkeley. Kreisler asked her the following question:

Let me give you a thought experiment here, and it is the following: without addressing the Palestine – Israel problem, let’s say you were an advisor to the President of the United States, how would you respond to current events there? Would you advise him to put a structure in place to monitor that situation, at least if one party or another [starts] looking like they might be moving toward genocide?

Power’s response seen in the video below is her advice to the President would be:

• “Alienate” the American Jewish community, and indeed all Americans, such as evangelical Christians, who support the state of Israel, because Israeli leaders are “destroying the lives of their own people.”

•  Pour billions of dollars of the taxpayers’ money into “the new state of Palestine”

• Stage an American ground invasion of Israel and the Palestinian territories — what else can she mean by a “mammoth protection force” and a “military presence” that will be “imposed” by “external intervention”? — Interestingly she considers the exact same thing the height of arrogance and foolishness when it was done in Iraq.
