3rd Romney-POS debate – Open Thread

The third and last 2012 presidential debate will begin this evening at 9 pm (East coast) and 6 pm (West coast), in Boca Raton, Florida.

The subject of this debate will be Foreign Policy. The non-objective moderator is CBS’s Bob Shieffer.

As we wait for the debate to begin, here are the latest election-related news:

• The latest Gallup Poll of likely voters has 51% for Romney vs. 45% for Obama.

• The son of Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie was attacked while trying to stop someone from stealing his Romney/Ryan yard sign. Sean Kedzie was wrestled to the ground by the thief and an accomplice, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head. He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes. (photo right)

• Pro-Democrats feminist lawyer Gloria Allred claims she has an “October surprise” to drop about Mitt Romney. Speculations are that her “surprise” concerns a woman who years ago had gone to Romney when he was a “bishop” in the LDS church for help with an abortion, and was told by Romney not to get an abortion. • Donald Trump also claims he has a “very big, big” surprise news about Obama, which he will reveal on Wednesday.

Obama makes fun of birthers

Last night, at the White House correspondents’ dinner love-fest, Obama made those who question his eligibility and his still-concealed birth certificate a butt of jokes.

Beginning at the 1:00 mark, he first makes fun of Donald Trump, who had asked about the birth certificate. Then, at the 1:38 mark, he really gets into it, saying:

“My name is Barack Obama. My mother was born in Kansas. My father was born in Kenya. And I was born, of course in Hawaii.” And with the word “Hawaii,” he makes a big wink (1:48 mark).

Hardee, ha, har, har!

It’s just all a big joke to him.

I can’t wait to wipe that wink off this POS’s face this November.

Just when Obama was starting to run out of things to say about Republicans, Sheriff Joe Arpaio decides to come out and launch a big investigation into Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Why he decided to bring this ridiculous issue, one that only gives Obama an opportunity to call the right (justifiably so, in this case) ‘crazy’ – is beyond explanation. But, he’s doing it anyway.

“Okay. Look, I am a fan of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. I am a guy who has supported him in the past. I like him, I… I think he’s great on illegal immigration. But Joe, have you gone nuts?” Glenn said as he opened the show.

The birth certificate has long been a tool of the Obama administration to distract people from real issues, like inflation, and to paint the Tea Party as racist and insane. Most of the outcry over the birth certificate had died down after Donald Trump faded into the background of the latest The Apprentice season and Obama releasing a copy of the birth certificate. Sadly, Sherrif Arpaio had to bring it up again.

Glenn treated the whole thing as a joke, presenting some wild theories of his own. Could the Obama administration have presented a forgery only to leave the real one in a vault just to screw with people? Or could he be the grandson of Sally Hemmings and Kruschev?

Even though Stu was really, really , really sick of having to talk about the “birther” issue on air once again, Glenn felt like he had to explain why it’s such a ridiculous story.

We Got Punk’d by Trump

On May 16, 2011 — after much huffing and puffing about how much he loves America and what a shame it is that Obama has brought shame to America and has dubious eligibility due to questions about his birth certificate, blah blah blah — business tycoon Donald Trump bowed out of the 2012 presidential race. In his typical blowhard fashion, Trump insisted that while he would not be a candidate this year, if he had run, he would have been able to win the primary and the general election.

Yeah, sure. Whatever.

In retrospect, Trump’s short-lived presidential-candidate posturing has a bad odor. Now, Dr. Jerome Corsi, author of the newly released book Where’s the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President, is accusing Trump of “working with Obama” to neutralize the birther controversy.

As reported by Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars.com, May 23, 2011:

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show, Corsi said that he now completely discounted the apparent efforts of Donald Trump to force the release of Obama’s birth certificate, stating, “I’m completely convinced at this point Donald Trump was subterfuge, that he….was working with Obama.”

[...] Trump’s role according to Corsi was to “beat the drums big” and craft a false resolution to the controversy in order to make the press “go to sleep” and get his $60 million dollar television contract with NBC, owned by General Electric, which is closely allied with the Obama administration.

Corsi’s accusation is not so far-fetched in view of Trump’s close association with the Emanuel Brothers, Rahm and Ari. Rahm Emanuel was the former White House chief-of-staff to Obama, now newly elected mayor of Chicago. His younger brother, Ari, was/is Trump’s agent and representative.

First, the Rahm connection: Trump, who opened the Trump International Hotel and Tower here in 2008 and will undoubtedly hope to add another pastel namesake to Chicago’s skyline, recognized that Rahm would soon be running the nation’s third largest city. Why wouldn’t he want to curry favor? Trump has given more money to Democrats than Republicans—among them Ed Rendell, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer—people Trump hoped would be friendly to his buildings, casinos, and golf courses.

And despite Donald’s nonstop anti-Obama diatribes, apparently he and Ari are still doing business. When I called Ari Emanuel, I was instructed by an underling to email my request. I specifically asked for confirmation that Ari still represents Donald.  No response yet, but no denial either. I also emailed Mayor-elect Rahm’s press spokesman, Tarrah Cooper, and asked about the Ari/Donald tie. “The Mayor-elect is not going to comment on his brother’s relationship with his clients,” she emailed back.

I called Trump’s office and talked to Michael Cohen, the registered Democrat and former Obama backer who is choreographing Donald’s run for president, presumably on the Republican ticket. Cohen told me that Trump is booked for the next few days; after New Hampshire, he heads to Las Vegas and then to D.C. for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. I asked Cohen in an email to confirm that his boss’s agent is still Ari Emanuel. No response as of post time.

Whether Trump really does plan to run for President(he promises to announce by June) or whether he’s just trying to goose his TV ratings, it’s hard to understand how the Emanuels—whose physician/bioethicist brother Zeke also has ties to the Obama administration—can do business of any kind with Trump. The Donald’s efforts to belittle the president are just so relentless—Trump called Obama “the worst president in American history,” a weakling on the battlefield and with OPEC, a useful idiot for the Chinese who are “ripping off America,” and a “terrible student” who somehow won admission to Columbia and Harvard Law School. “Release your transcripts!” is Trump’s latest outlandish demand.

[...] And given how he changes his mind without worrying if the public notices, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the man—who once denounced Reagan and “W” as the worst presidents ever, who previously pushed for universal healthcare and abortion rights—ended up contributing to Obama sometime in 2012, and then, sometime in 2014, writing another big check to Rahm’s next campaign.

As I was saying on another thread that the GOP will only back RINOs. The GOP is falling apart and/or pulling a Newt. They want Romney, but he will be crushed. Please America, time to put the boots on. We are going to have to  fight like it’s for all the marbles. That means donating…even if it’s a buck. Donate money, time, anything, because I think we have a very good chance with a third party or tea party platform. It’s time to put these RINO bastards out to pasture, or better yet, let them go with Skippy to the big outhouse.

There is a sound heard all across America today. No, it is not the cicadas, which in some parts of the country are rising from their 13-year slumber. It is the sound of establishment Republicans crying.

Mitch Daniels isn’t running for President.

In a midnight email, Daniels told supporters of his decision. His reasons were personal. His wife and his four daughters did not want him to and it is hard to undertake running for President with anything less than full family support.

The establishment spinmeisters have gone into warp speed to try and spin this and pressure another establishment candidate to run. The Daily Caller’s headline read, “In the wake of Daniels’ announcement, will GOP turn to dream candidates?” Of course their idea of dream candidates included Paul Ryan (not running), Chris Christie (thankfully not running) and Jeb Bush (please never another Bush anywhere near the White House).

Politico featured a similar story with a similar cast (Substitute Rick Perry for Jeb Bush, and Perry has said he isn’t running).

On Meet the Press, or as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it, Meet the Depressed, GOP consultant Mike Murphy parroted the establishment lines. First, the race would come down to the three establishment candidates, Romney, Huntsman and Pawlenty and there would be one candidate there for “entertainment value,” possibly Herman Cain.

There is fear and loathing in the establishment. Fear because they know they do not have a good candidate. Romney manages to raise a lot of money but everyone knows that if he is the nominee, the Obama team is going to beat him to death with Romneycare. Huntsman is a joke. He is the poster child for being a RINO. He once wrote fan boy letters to Obama telling him what a great leader he is. Team Obama will beat him to death with his own quotes about the greatness of Obama. Pawlenty seems like a nice guy, but he has the political firepower of a dead armadillo.

The establishment loathing of the Tea Party could not be more obvious. While the GOP cannot seem to get out any type of messaging to oppose the Obama regime, they are doing a good job of trying to message against anyone with Tea Party support. Charles Krauthammer used the term “entertainment value” on Herman Cain’s candidacy. He also used a similar term referring to Donald Trump’s candidacy, as Trump started surging in the polls. Expect a similar treatment for Michele Bachmann, if and when she starts to surge in the polls.

The GOP establishment does not get it and is doing its best to relegate the GOP to history right next to the Whig party it replaced. There is a huge disconnect between the establishment and the rank and file GOP as well as conservative Americans. Earth to GOP: This is your base.

The GOP base loved it when we heard Donald Trump rip the Chinese or for that matter Obama. The rank and file love Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann when they do the same thing. The base wants the GOP to go after the other side. The base is ready for a fight. The base wants to get into a fight. The base wants to win this fight.

Meanwhile, the establishment Republicans, Romney, Gingrich, Huntsman and Pawlenty stagger around like freshly castrated cattle, wondering what has happened to an important part of their anatomy.

The GOP needs to understand, this election is a cross roads for it. If the GOP establishment pushes another legacy candidate like Romney or another RINO like Huntsman or Pawlenty, the conservative base will bolt from the GOP. Unless the GOP buys a clue and returns to its conservative roots and nominates a real conservative fighter for President, by 2016, there will be a third party in this country…

Donald Trump has decided he will not run for President in the 2012 election.

ABC News’ Michael Falcone, Jen Wlach, & Sara Just report, May 16, 2011:

After a roller-coaster flirtation with a presidential bid, Donald Trump bowed out of the 2012 contest in true Trump fashion, sayng that while he would not be a candidate this year, if he had run, he would have been able to win the primary and the general election.

In the end, however, his decision almost certainly had more to do with his lucrative NBC television contract for his “Apprentice” franchise than anything else…. Some news reports cited NBC offering Trump as much as $60 million to renew his contract, and sources said that NBC had told Trump that the network had lined up three years worth of sponsors for “The Apprentice” — but only with Trump’s participation in the show.

Yeah, sure. If Trump had run, “he would have been able to win the primary and the general election.” Sure….

So much for Trump loving his country and wanting to make America great again, blah, blah, blah.

In the end, money trumps all.

Text by Daniel Miller, Reuters “An African-American political advocacy group is targeting “Celebrity Apprentice” star Donald Trump in the aftermath of what many feel are racially tinged political comments made about President Obama.

On Thursday, the organization ColorOfChange launched a Twitter-based campaign to persuade black “Celebrity Apprentice” cast members Star Jones and Lil Jon to denounce Trump for what the group terms “race-baiting.”

I am so sick of these racist so-called civil rights groups “bullying” people with “race”. It is an indisputable fact that the liberal mainstream media exempted presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama from the usual vetting process of one seeking to be elected Leader of the Free World. Obama’s skin color trumped everything.

Thus, for the first time in U.S. history, we have a president who can not be criticized in any way. “Hear ye, hear ye, all who dare criticize King Obama is automatically guilty of racism and will suffer the consequences!” This is totally absurd and insane.

Obama has been in the Oval Office for two years. Black “race pimps” continue to despicably, without reservation, drive a wedge into the heart of national race relations. Whenever these black race pimps, including the Obama administration, find themselves on the losing end of an argument, they turn it into a racial issue branding the opposition racist.

President Obama would not have responded to Trump’s request for him to present his birth certificate unless he felt he had to do it. Obviously, polling data must have confirmed that millions of Americans felt Trump’s request was reasonable.

In response to the uppity white boy, who dared question their king, a few black celebrities and black bullies to “stop it and get a life”?

If we are ever to move forward as a nation, we must call out race pimps of all colors.

We do not tolerate “white” skinheads. Nor, should we tolerate “black” racists.

Incredibly, black race pimps feel their racism is OK. It is as if they view America’s original sin of slavery as their, “Right to be Racist For Free” card. Using race to bully people into submitting to an agenda is racist; pure and simple.

I watched a black intellectual on TV shilling for Obama. He used a plethora of big words to cover the simple school yard truth that he was a black bully racist, committed to Obama no matter what. Sounding extremely intelligent, the black racist was spouting lies and illogical stupid conclusions. But man, did he sound “smart”.

Liberals do this all the time. They have a basic emotion driven dislike for America and all of the traditions and values which have made is great. They hide their disdain for America under a shroud of intellectual mumbo-jumbo; spouting crazy stupid nonsense which sounds above our ability to understand. I call it, “Intellectual Stupid Speak”.

My fellow Americans, racism is ugly and evil. Most Americans agree and reject it. So, when I see black race pimps like the ColorOfChange using race to bully people, it turns my stomach.

And, something else that truly annoys me. The black community is not a tribe with chiefs dictating our monolithic opinion. I ask that these disgusting race baiting organizations please stop running around proclaiming they speak for “the black community”. I am black. They do not speak for me.

As long as the Good Lord gives me strength, I will call out hate inspiring race dividers. God Bless.

Why Bush is Right to Refuse Obama’s Invitation

The blogosphere is lit up today with reaction to W’s decision to decline an invitation to join Obama at Ground Zero.

Bush’s official explanation is that he wants to stay out of the spotlight since he retired. But in the back of his mind, I am sure he has to be pondering both the Left’s treatment of him and Obama’s conduct as president.

If I were advising Bush right now, these are the reasons I would give him to stay away from Obama’s visit to NY….

One: Some still think he was responsible for 9/11 in some way. He was viciously criticized for staying in that classroom when he was first told, keeping too many documents classified, stripping funding from fire fighters, and then dawdling to win the war on terror. Taking credit for OBL’s death will not change that, and could possibly reignite it..

Two: Certain people who remain in Congress to this day want him prosecuted for so-called torture because of him doing everything he could to find Al Qaeda. Obama himself wanted to lead an investigation – until approximately five minutes after he became president.

Three: Obama has a long track record of inviting people to his speeches and then jumping them from stage.

Exhibit A: SCOTUS

Exhibit B: House critter Paul Ryan

Exhibit C: Donald Trump

Exhibit D: Senator John McCain

Four: Obama’s speech Sunday night made it clear that “I authorized” the action because “I” wanted him dead and “I” got it done. Giving Bush sloppy seconds four days later means nothing.

The fifth and final reason? Seven years ago it was uncouth to show up at Ground Zero for a shameless photo op. Anyone remember that?

Bush has almost nothing to gain and everything to lose from showing up there. I understand conservatives wishing that we could put partisan politics behind us for one day and just celebrate the victory.

But I am not convinced Obama can restrain himself from saying something hateful, and I am not convinced progressives will make themselves be civil to Bush.

Obama showed his true intentions Sunday night. If he wants to own this so badly, let him own it. And as far as I’m concerned, Americans treated Bush so badly for eight years, we really don’t deserve his class.
