Who is Adam Kokesh? – the man calling for an armed American revolution

If Adam Kokesh has his way, one month and one week from today, on July 4th, there will be armed marches by American citizens on Washington, D.C., and on all 50 state capitals across the United States. (See “Iraq War veteran plans armed march on Washington on July 4,” May 6, 2013; and “Kokesh released from jail; calls for march on 50 state capitals,” May 27, 2013.)

Did that get your attention?

If that happens, what do you think the federal and state governments will do?

They will call in police armed to the teeth, SWAT teams, National Guards, and maybe even the military, Posse Comitatus be damned. (See “US military gives itself authority to police America without permission,” May 20, 2013.)

It would also be the perfect pretext and excuse for Pres. Lucifer to impose martial law.

Given the gravity of what Kokesh is spearheading, shouldn’t we know something about the man? Who is he? Is he really who he claims to be?

Let’s begin with the caption for this pic of Kokesh (see below) in the Washington Post:

Adam KokeshBack in 2007, five years ago, Kokesh already had a reputation of “embracing positions on every side of the political spectrum”!

According to Wikipedia, Adam Kokesh, born in 1982, is a self-described libertarian, anti-war activist, and, from 2010 to 2011, a talk radio host and doing “a stint on television” with RT (Russia Today). He was a corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and a non-combat veteran of the Iraq War, serving in Falujah in 2004 in the 3rd Civil Affairs Group as a liaison between the U.S. military and Iraqi civilians.

He is an outspoken opponent of U.S. military intervention in Iraq. Starting in 2007, he became a member and leading proponent of “Iraq Veterans Against the War“. In 2011, he and Nathan Cox co-founded “Veterans for Ron Paul.” Some of his demonstrations protesting U.S. military missions overseas and his acts of civil disobedience have been “controversial.” (Click here for his protest activities 2007-2013).

In 2010, Kokesh ran unsuccessfully in the GOP primary for New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district seat. His campaign donations were mainly from out-of-state, and he received endorsements from Congressman Ron Paul and from the Republican Liberty Caucus.

The son of Charles Kokesh, a Santa Fe businessman and former owner of the defunct Santa Fe Horse Park, Adam Kokesh is Jewish and a self-avowed atheist.

Adam Kokesh

On May 19, 2013, at a marijuana “Smoke Down Prohibition” protest in Philadelphia, Kokesh was dragged away by the police, charged with “resisting arrest” and felony assault of a federal officer, and held without bail. A week later, he was released from jail. The day before his release, Kokesh had issued a statement from his cell calling for an “American Revolutionary Army” to march on all 50 State capitals:

“When a government has repeatedly and deliberately failed to follow its own laws, violated the fundamental human rights of its citizens, threatened the sanctity of a free press, created institutions intended to eliminate privacy of communication, waged war at the behest of special interest that threatens the public safety, killed hundreds of children with drone strikes, imprisoned and destroyed the lives of countless individuals for victimless crimes, stifled economic opportunity to maintain the dominance of the financial elite, stolen from the people through an absurd system of taxation and inflation, sold future generations into debt slavery, and abused its power to suppress political opposition, it is unfit to exist and it becomes the duty of the people to alter or abolish that government by whatever means necessary to secure liberty and ensure peace.

A new American revolution is long overdue. This revolution has been brewing in the hearts and minds of the people for many years, but this Independence Day, it shall take a new form as the American Revolutionary Army will march on each state capital to demand that the governors of these 50 states immediately initiate the process of an orderly dissolution of the federal government through secession and reclamation of federally held property. Should one whole year from this July 4th pass while the crimes of this government are allowed to continue, we may have passed the point at which non-violent revolution becomes impossible.

The time to sit idly by has passed. To remain neutral is to be complicit, just doing your job is not an excuse, and the line in the sand has been drawn between the people, and the criminals in Washington, D.C. While some timid souls will say that it is too early, that we can solve this problem through democratic means provided by government, that current levels of taxation are reasonable for the services provided, and that the crimes of this government are merely a tolerable nuisance, it may already be too late.

While there is risk in drastic action, the greater danger lies in allowing this government to continue unchallenged. So if you are content with the status quo, stay home, get fat, watch the fireworks from a safe distance, and allow this Independence Day to pass like any other. But if you see as we see, and feel as we feel, we will see you on the front lines of freedom on July 4th, 2013 for this, The Final American Revolution.”

Kokesh’s statement calling for a “Final American Revolution” mimics the language of the American Revolution’s Declaration of Independence. He is calling for the 50 states to overthrow (“dissolve”) the federal government, i.e., the Obama regime. So why is it that Kokesh’s Facebook page once had his “Work Info” as:

Employer: Obama for America
Position: Revolution Czar
Time Period: March 2011 to present
Description: Fomenting unrest

That “Work Info” is no longer on his Facebook page. Before the page was scrubbed of that info, however, Lady Patriots blogger Dr. Sharon Schuetz had taken a screenshot of Kokesh’s Facebook page (click image to enlarge):

Kokesh FB screenshotKokesh has not explained why that “Work Info” was on his Facebook page: He has not said it was a joke, nor has he said that someone had hacked into his Facebook page and inserted that “Work Info.” Therefore, we can only conclude that the “Work Info” is true.

Then there is the matter of the FreeAdamKokesh website being created 6 days before his arrest in the “Smoke Down Prohibition” protest in Philadelphia on May 19, 2013.

Blogger 12160 asked the owner of FreeAdamKokesh.com, IanCioffi, and received this reply: “purchased it for when I thought he’d be arrested on July 4th.” But as a 12160 commenter, Curtis, points out:

That free adam page was created IN ITS ENTIRETY and updated to what you see now ON THE 12th. FACT end of story Hes an agent

Curtis further observes:

By his own admission Kokesh suffers from PTSD so severe that he has trouble handling large crowds; not a trait one would expect to find in a military commander. Another trait displayed by Kokesh that is anathema to any true Patriot is his support of terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah – Enemies of the United States – and radical anti-war activists including Iraq Veterans Against the War and Code Pink, that tried to deface the Vietnam War Memorial, an act of vandalism Kokesh himself attempted to participate in before the group was stopped by Honorable Vietnam Veterans at the 2007 Gathering of Eagles. Kokesh also counts the Occupy Movement, funded extensively by anti-American Jewish billionaire George Soros, as his allies.

Another 12160 reader Michael Rivero wrote this comment:

The goal of Adam Kokesh’s armed march into DC is to give the government a “tiny revolution” they can brutally suppress to deter an uprising by the general population, which would be far more difficult to deal with.

Back in the 1960s, there was a member of the Black Panther party named Bobby Seale. He too called for armed marches, and as a result of those marches the corporate media demonized the Black Panthers as dangerous, and California passed some very restrictive (for the time) gun laws. Later it came out Bobby Seale was working for the CIA.

In 1970, anti-war activists on several Southern California organized a mass protest against the Vietnam war to take place along Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim, just outside the Disneyland theme park. Once there, the organizers led the protest inside the park itself, caused damage, took over Tom Sawyer’s island, and created a huge mess, which resulted in the National Guard being called in along with the media. By the next day the credibility of the peace movement had been utterly destroyed in the eyes of the public.  Some years later, when the FBI’s COINTELPRO scandal broke and the very legitimacy of the government was in question, Congress held hearings and it was then revealed that the entire Disneyland riot had been an FBI operation; the “organizers” all FBI informants on college campuses (which exist to this very day) and the whole plan to destroy the peace movement ordered by the Nixon White House.

Given Obama’s penchant for Nixonian tactics (like sending the IRS after political/ideological enemies) there is no reason to assume Kokesh’s stunt is not more of the same.

Yes Kokesh is a well known radio host. So was Hal Turner, who was revealed as working for the FBI, trying to incite his audience to acts that could be used to portray political dissenters in the most negative light.

The government likes to play dirty.

Let us not be suckers yet again.

Another 12160 reader Truth Hurts wrote:

This is all for show. His father [Charles Kokesh] is a multi millionaire venture capitalist (and race track owner) who was charged by the SEC in a $45 mill law suit. This is something Adam has never mentioned, ever.

If you research the time line, you’ll see that Adam entered the scene right about the time the Feds were wrapping up their case against his father. I can find no resolution to the case after almost 5 years.

Oath Keepers does NOT endorse Adam’s march. The leadership at Oath Keepers has a wealth of tactical experience, and marching into the enemy’s camp, to be captured makes no sense. What is to be accomplished by this action? What could possibly go wrong? These are the questions a responsible leader asks before sending his troops into harm’s way. This is either tactical ignorance, or willful endangerment; the latter being the worst of the two choices.

I would say that Adam’s choice of the words “Oath Keepers” is no accident. He is VERY familiar with Oath Keepers and our mission. Not only are his tactics questionable, so are his ethics. Not only has he embarrassed himself by announcing a pointless and irresponsible armed march, he has damaged his integrity by using the good name of Oath Keepers to bolster his own agenda.

US positioning for war against Syria

Yesterday, warmonger RINO Sen. John McCain spent Memorial Day, of all days, visiting Syrians rebels. (See Steve’s post, here.)

For more than a year now, since March 2012, McCain has been pushing for a war in Syria, notwithstanding the fact that:

  • Our military is already stretched thin, and our soldiers stressed to the breaking point with repeated tours of duty and unprecedented rates of suicide and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
  • We are plain broke, with a $17 trillion national debt that’s now a dangerous 105% of our GDP (gross domestic product).

The overnight network news contrasted McCain’s trip yesterday with a peace-loving Obama regime that favors a “diplomatic” solution to the Syrian civil war.

Bunk.

The Obama regime has already positioned us for war in Syria.

map-of-jordan & Syria

Global Security reports that more than a month ago, on April 17, 2013, US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel had announced the deployment of elements of the 1st Armored Division headquarters to Jordan in response to the ongoing crisis in Syria. The elements from 1st Armored Division would join forces that are already in Jordan, providing a cohesive command and control element in cooperation with Jordan forces. If directed, this element could establish a joint task force headquarters that would provide command and control for chemical weapons response, humanitarian assistance efforts, and “stability operations.”

The 1st Armored Division is one of the oldest and most prestigious armored divisions in the United States Army. Nicknamed “Old Ironsides,” the 1st Armored Division is the standing armored division of the U.S. Army, with its base of operations in Fort Bliss, Texas. It was the first armored division of the U.S. Army to see battle in World War II.

1st Armored DivisionClick chart to enlarge

Go to GlobalSecurity.org for a history of the 1st Armored Division since its activation at Fort Knox on 15 July 1940.

In 1990, the 1st Armored Division was deployed to the Middle East in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. In less than 2 months the Division moved 17,400 soldiers and 7,050 pieces of equipment by rail, sea, and air to Saudi Arabia for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

On 24 February 1991, the 1st Armored Division crossed into Iraq, leading VII Corp’s main flanking attack. Its mission was to destroy the elite Iraqi Republican Guards Divisions. In its 89-hour blitz across the desert Old Ironsides traveled 250 kilometers; destroyed 768 tanks, APCs and artillery pieces; and captured 1,064 prisoners of war.

Beginning on April 15, 2003, Old Ironsides were deployed in a 15-month long mission in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Task Force 1st Armored Division was the largest division-based task force in US Army history up to that point.

The task force secured some of Baghdad’s roughest neighborhoods and brought stability to the city and its surrounding countryside. The Task Force’s accomplishments included planning and executing Operations Iron Hammer, Iron Justice, Iron Grip, Longstreet, Iron Bullet, Iron Promise and Iron Sabre. During these task force operations, soldiers captured more than 700 criminals and former regime insurgents. They also confiscated thousands of rockets, mortars, tank rounds, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.

In addition to combat, task force Soldiers protected and improved the quality of life for over 5 million Iraqi residents in the city of Baghdad. The task force trained Iraqi police and national guardsmen, renovated schools, established neighborhood councils and spent over $60 million on these and other projects.

During the opening phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 133 Iron Soldiers lost their lives while serving in Iraq and 1,111 were wounded in combat.

First He Went To Turkey……

by sundance @ theconservativetreehouse

Republican John McCain is just as dangerous to our nation as his new BFF President Obama;  Perhaps more so….

john-mccain-lord-of-the-tarp1

n 2009 McCain went to Turkey in support of another BFF of Obama, Prime Minister Erdogan.   We tried to warn….. it fell on deaf ears.

obama-emog2

Turkey has descended into a hardline Islamist state, no longer the moderate secular nation it once was.

In 2010 McCain joined the chorus of fools proclaiming that Egypt needed support to overthrow Hosni Mubarak, and claimed the Tahir Square protesters would give a new rise to freedom.   We tried to warn…… it fell on deaf ears.

Egypt quickly and intentionally descended into a hardline Islamist state.  Now ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood, and facilitating attacks against Israel as they continue to advance their extremist Sharia ideology.

In 2011 McCain went to Benghazi in eastern Libya.  There he joined with Obama/Hillary’s toolish BFF Ambassador Stephens (pictured below to his left).   As Clinton, Obama and Stephens, together with Susan Rice and Samantha Power Rice structured, yet again, the Obama Doctrine [R2P] by arming the “rebels” who were in actuality al-Qaeda.    We tried to warn….. it fell on deaf ears.

mccainbenghazicourthouse5

Eastern Libya became a hell hole of radical Islamist jihadi’s.  Eventually they brutalized, raped, and murdered Ambassador Stephens while dragging his body through the streets.  Three other Americans were also killed.

ambassador-chris-stevens-collar-bone-injury6

Eastern Libya is now an al-Qaeda launching base, and the media hides the reality to protect Dear Leader.

2012 was an election year, so other than lying and covering the death of Stephens behind all manner of irrational nonsense excuses to cover for their short-sighted failure;  luckily the election cycle made the crew of U.S. usurpers wary of involvement in Syria.

But now here we are in 2013, today, yet another McCain trip to yet another Middle East nation to support another batch of “rebels”.   This time the Free Syrian Army (aka al-Qaeda in Syria).   We’re not going to even bother with warnings this time……

620x350xmccain-syria.jpg.pagespeed.ic.TalXc6PaCj8

What will happen is what has happened before.

The “Resistance, or Rebels, or Freedom Fighters et al” will be called such by the mediauntil they are armed, and in charge.   Once that happens their ideology will surface, they’ll be viewed as radical Islamists;  And after they chop up a few folks, launch some terrorist actions against the U.S. and Israel, their name will evolve in the media to ”al-Qaeda”

Any Questions?

Ex-Diplomats Report New Benghazi Whistleblowers with Info Devastating to Clinton and Obama

ok, by now i hope we all know ambassador Stevens was not in Benghazi to build schools and do WHATEVER it is ambassadors do. nope he was there doing some kind of shady biz which I’m sure goes on all around the world all the time. according to this story you’re about to read , this seems like a really stupid thing to have done. wanna guess where it leads.?  ———— ~ steve ~————

More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon.

These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law.

According to the diplomats, what these whistleblowers will say will be at least as explosive as what we have already learned about the scandal, including details about what really transpired in Benghazi that are potentially devastating to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

hillary

The former diplomats inform PJM the new revelations concentrate in two areas — what Ambassador Chris Stevens was actually doing in Benghazi and the pressure put on General Carter Ham, then in command of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.

stevens

Gen. Ham

Gen. Ham

Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.

Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted “to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap.”

This left Stevens in the position of having to clean up the scandalous enterprise when it became clear that the “insurgents” actually were al-Qaeda – indeed, in the view of one of the diplomats, the same group that attacked the consulate and ended up killing Stevens.

The former diplomat who spoke with PJ Media regarded the whole enterprise as totally amateurish and likened it to the Mike Nichols film Charlie Wilson’s War about a clueless congressman who supplies Stingers to the Afghan guerrillas. “It’s as if Hillary and the others just watched that movie and said ‘Hey, let’s do that!’” the diplomat said.

He added that he and his colleagues think the leaking of General David Petraeus’ affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell was timed to silence the former CIA chief on these matters.

Regarding General Ham, military contacts of the diplomats tell them that AFRICOM had Special Ops “assets in place that could have come to the aid of the Benghazi consulate immediately (not in six hours).”

Ham was told by the White House not to send the aid to the trapped men, but Ham decided to disobey and did so anyway, whereupon the White Housecalled his deputy and had the deputy threaten to relieve Ham of his command.”

He told us. Did he not?

He told us. Did he not?

The White House motivation in all this is as yet unclear, but it is known that Ham retired quietly in April 2013 as head of AFRICOM.

PJ Media recognizes this is largely hearsay, but the two diplomats sounded quite credible. One of them was in a position of responsibility in a dangerous area of Iraq in 2004.

We will report more as we learn it.

Taking Down The Bird Feeder. Leave It To Maxine.

Just have to luv Maxine.

Just have to luv Maxine.

Taking down the bird feeder.

This is the best analogy yet!

Leave it to Maxine to come up with a solution For the mess that America is now in economically.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled It with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it, lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…. Everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.

And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be ….. Quiet, serene…. And no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let’s see. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care and free education, and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s second grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English.

Corn flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to ‘press one ‘ to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than ‘Old Glory’ are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

If you agree, pass it on; if not, just continue cleaning up the poop.

Published May 21, 2013

The Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 others during a shooting at Fort Hood has reportedly been paid more than $278,000 since the 2009 incident.

U.S. Department of Defense officials confirmed to NBCDFW.com that Maj. Nidal Hasan’s salary cannot be suspended unless he is proven guilty in the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting in Texas, citing the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Jury selection in his trial is scheduled to begin May 30.

If Hasan, 42, had been a civilian Defense Department employee, Army officials could have suspended his pay after just seven days,NBCDFW.com reports.

A military judge refused to delay Hasan’s trial earlier this month after his attorneys sought to postpone the court-martial to Sept. 1. Hasan’s attorneys claimed military jurors may be influenced by national media coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings that compared the two Muslim suspects — Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev – to Hasan.

Prosecutors countered that the delay was unnecessary because Hasan was mentioned only briefly in some news reports about the April 15 attacks in Boston.
Hasan faces the death penalty or life in prison without parole if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.

The White House and Pentagon have refused to characterize Hasan’s attack as terrorism, instead terming it “workplace violence.” The victims have been denied Purple Hearts and are suing the military because they claim the “workplace violence” designation gives them diminished access to medical care and financial benefits normally available to those whose wounds are designated as “combat related.”

Did You Notice the Policy

 Change on Ft. Hood

Shooter In Obama’s Terror Speech?

 @ The Blaze

During President Barack Obama’s counter-terrorism speech on Thursday he did something that hasn’t yet been done by the administration — at least not so overtly. He referred to the Fort Hood shooting as an act that was “inspired by larger notions of violent jihad.” That is big step toward dubbing the attack an act of terror instead of “workplace violence” as it has been categorized.

“Deranged or alienated individuals — often U.S. citizens or legal residents — can do enormous damage. Particularly when inspired by larger notions of violent jihad.” Obama said during the speech. “That pull towards extremism appears to have led to the shooting at Fort Hood and the bombing of the Boston Marathon.”

By linking the Boston bombing, which has officially been called terrorism, with Fort Hood, Obama essentially admitted that the former is a comparable act that could (or should) be given the same designation. This is notable for a number of reasons.

For quite some time, the government has taken criticism from liberals and conservatives, alike, for officially calling the 2009 shooting (the only prime suspect is former U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan) “workplace violence” instead of terrorism. Contention over this designation continues to run rampant.

Earlier this month, ABC News reported that at least one Democrat is joining the chorus of those who are discontented with the Obama administration’s failure to use the terrorism label:

A long-serving Pennsylvania Democrat has joined Republican colleagues to ask Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to overturn the “indefensible” decision by the military to designate the Fort Hood massacre “workplace violence” rather than terrorism.

“This designation has since resulted in an embarrassing lack of care and treatment by our military for the victims and their families,” said Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-Penn.), Rep. Thomas Rooney (R-Fla.) and Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Virg.) in a later dated May 6 and obtained by ABC News.

In the letter, the trio of lawmakers blame “considerations of ‘political correctness’” not only for the “workplace violence” designation, but for allowing the attack to unfold in the first place.

Fattah’s entrance into the controversy comes after Republicans in Congress have generally taken the lead in pressing the White House for answers about the victims’ treatment, as chronicled in an ABC News investigation.

Watch Obama’s comments about Fort Hood,

Following the speech, Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Fla.) noted the importance of Obama’s words, claiming that they may help push through efforts for a reclassification of the shooting.

“When he put Ft. Hood in the same breath as Boston… he was basically making our case for us,” Rooney said in an interview with Fox News.

There may be hope yet for our wounded WARRIORS and their families .

John McCain is a POS

RINO Sen. John McCain was one of the sponsors of the National Defense Authorization Act that gives “authority” to the president and military to arrest and indefinitely detain U.S. citizens without charge or trial.

So it really shouldn’t surprise us that he favors capitulation on raising our national debt ceiling — yet again — and is bawling about conservatives Republicans “pushing too far.”

McCainThe Associated Press reports, May 23, 2013:

Tactics for dealing with the government’s budget and debt became the latest quarrel In a string of them between McCain —sometimes joined by other traditionalist Republicans —and Tea Party champions such as Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Mike Lee of Utah and Marco Rubio of Florida.

Those four won Senate seats by defying the party establishment, and are shaking up the tradition-bound Senate with no-compromise, no-apology stands on key issues like debt and deficits, government spending and the use of drones in the war on terrorism.

McCain himself has defied Republican orthodoxy at times. But he was the party’s 2008 presidential nominee, and he now is among those who say a minority party will accomplish little in the Senate if it can’t find ways to cut deals with the majority.

Cruz, who like Paul is weighing a 2016 presidential bid, renewed his taunts of the party establishment in a speech Thursday on the Senate floor. The more accommodating Republicans, he said, are in cahoots with Democrats to raise the government’s borrowing limit by disabling the GOP’s ability to mount a filibuster threat that could be used to extract spending cuts from Democrats and the White House

[...] Earlier in the day, Lee angered McCain with similar remarks. Lee said Republicans should block a House-Senate conference designed to resolve budget differences because it might ease the Democrats’ effort to raise the government’s borrowing limit. That rankled the sometimes cantankerous McCain, of Arizona. He said the Tea Partyers’ tactics could embolden Democrats who are threatening to change Senate rules that now allow the minority party — or even just one senator— to block various actions.

“That would be the most disastrous outcome that I could ever imagine,” McCain said.

For months, Democrats have complained about Republicans blocking or delaying confirmation of top White House nominees, including some federal judges. Democrats say the impasse over a budget conference is further evidence of a small group of senators in the minority abusing their powers to block actions that in the past would have gone forward after a few speeches.

Supporters of the Tea Party-backed lawmakers say the ongoing IRS and Benghazi controversies have vindicated their sharply partisan, uncompromising views. Republicans cite the controversies as examples of Democratic overreach and obfuscation.

This week’s budget quarrel follows a high-profile split between Tea Partyers and champions of a big defense program over drone attacks, and an intra-GOP disagreement over gun control tactics. It involves an obscure procedural battle and arcane rules governing the congressional budget process. Democrats want to set up an official House-Senate negotiating committee to iron out the gaping differences between the budget plans passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate and the Republican-controlled House.

Cruz, Lee and others say they fear House and Senate leaders will use the budget measure to engineer a scenario in which an increase in the government’s borrowing cap could pass the 100-member Senate by a simple majority instead of the 60 votes typically need to overpower the minority on an issue.

McCain and others, like Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray, D-Wash., note that House Republicans can block any move by Democratic negotiators to engineer a filibuster-free debt limit increase.

“Isn’t it a little bizarre,” McCain said Wednesday. “Basically what we are saying here on this (Republican) side of the aisle is that we don’t trust our colleagues on the other side of the Capitol who are in the majority, Republicans.”

“Let me be clear. I don’t trust the Republicans,” Cruz responded. “And I don’t trust the Democrats. I think a whole lot of Americans likewise don’t trust the Republicans and the Democrats, because it is leadership in both parties that has gotten us in this mess.”

At a Tea Party rally last month in Texas, Cruz taunted fellow Republicans after the Senate rejected a call for background checks on virtually all prospective gun buyers.

Cruz and other Tea Partyers had threatened to filibuster the gun legislation and keep it from coming to the Senate floor for votes. Other Republicans said the smarter political move — which eventually prevailed — was to let the votes take place, and have a few Democrats join Republicans in rejecting the wider background checks. Cruz suggested that Republicans who favored proceeding with the votes were “a bunch of squishes.”

That earned Cruz a rebuke from the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial page — gleefully retweeted by McCain. “Would it have been right for us to not even debate in light of the Newtown massacre?” McCain said.

[...] Democrats say the debt ceiling must be raised to pay for expenses already incurred by Congress. Failing to raise the ceiling, they say, would trigger a catastrophic default on U.S. obligations.

McCain scuffled with the tea party senators in March after Paul launched a filibuster to warn of the threat of unmanned drone attacks against U.S. citizens on American soil. McCain referred to newcomers like Paul and Cruz as “wacko birds” and said their fears of drone strikes against Americans were “ridiculous.”

“It has been suggested that we are ‘wacko birds,’” Cruz said Thursday. “I will suggest to my friend from Arizona there may be more wacko birds in the Senate than is suspected.”

The split between McCain, 76, and next-generation, 40-something potential 2016 candidates like Paul, Cruz and Rubio also illustrates the broader GOP drift toward the right. McCain has spent decades in the Senate, mixing a penchant for confrontation with a capacity for bipartisan relationships and legislation; the new generation is feistier and more wary of compromise.

The Senate has Lost its Mind

Okay, not the full Senate – yet, but can there be any doubt this lunacy will fly right through that democrat-controlled body?

Senate panel OKs tax-welfare benefits for newly legal immigrants

By Stephen Dinan – The Washington Times

Monday, May 20, 2013

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted Monday to allow illegal immigrants who get legal status to begin collecting tax-welfare payments, as the panel spent a fourth day working through amendments to the massive immigration bill and party-line splits began to emerge.

In one major change, the committee voted 17-1 to make a third drunken-driving conviction a deportable offense for the newly legalized immigrants if at least one of those offenses occurs after they are approved for legal status.

But immigrant-rights groups called that a rollback of due-process rights for the immigrants and said a drunken-driving incident shouldn’t cost someone a chance at citizenship.

“We cannot and will not support hard-line proposals that take away discretion and limit an individual’s ability to pursue the pathway to citizenship,” said Paromita Shah, associate director of the National Lawyers Guild’s National Immigration Project.

Overall, the committee continued to maintain the delicate balance struck by the “Gang of Eight” senators who negotiated the 867-page bill: Quick legal status for illegal immigrants, but delaying citizenship rights until after the administration spends more money on border security, puts in place a new electronic verification system to check workers’ status, and enacts an entry-exit system to check visas at airports and seaports.

In previous days’ action, two Republican members of the Gang of Eight — Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona — joined with Democrats to block a series of GOP amendments to stiffen the bill’s security.

But on Monday, the two Republicans sided with their party colleagues on key questions on giving illegal immigrants public benefits.

The 10 Democrats on the committee still outnumber the newly unified Republicans, but the votes signaled tough fights ahead on the Senate floor.

Parasites

Hopefully the republican-controlled House of Representatives will put a swift end to this insanity, as unlike the idiots currently populating the Senate, all of them will be up for reelection next year.

-But you will pardon me if I refrain from holding my breath.

As for myself, I am getting beyond tired of seeing Americans being treated like second-class citizens in favor of illegal invaders by our own government.

Those on that Senate committee that voted for this idiocy should be ashamed of themselves.

Of course, when you have no shame…

Subject: Why Carry a Gun?

Why Carry a Gun?

My old grandpa said to me ‘Son, there comes a time in every man’s life when he stops bustin’ knuckles and starts bustin’ caps, and
usually it’s when he becomes too old to take a whoopin.’

I don’t carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don’t carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry.
I carry a gun so that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don’t carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

Police protection is an oxymoron.
Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to take a whoopin’…..author unknown (but obviously brilliant)

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’. Without them, we are ‘subjects’.

During WW II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti gun -control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win.
There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.
The final weapon is the brain.
All else is supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!
SWITZERLAND’S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT TO WHOM THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.

This was brought to my attention

One other point is particularly important here. The description of gun distribution in Switzerland omits important information.

The Swiss government doesn’t hand out a gun to every household. It requires nearly every able-bodied young male adult to serve in the citizen militia, where they are issued a military rifle. The guns are supposed to be for military use only, not for personal defense.

Those men are supposed to show up for 18 weeks of training, followed by seven re-training sessions (each lasting three weeks) over the next 10 years.

If you want to keep your weapon after your years of service, it is refitted to scale back its firepower and you need to provide a reason for keeping it.

IT’S A NO BRAINER!
DON’T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

I’m a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment!
If you are too, please forward.

Do you know a Ben Ghazi?

Low Information Voters Dumb Asses of America unite!

Public Policy Polling surveyed 576 U.S. voters nationwide through automated telephone interviews, May 10-12.

The poll found that Republicans aren’t getting much traction with their focus on Benghazi over the last week. Voters trust Hillary Clinton over Congressional Republicans on the issue of Benghazi by a 49/39 margin and Clinton’s +8 net favorability rating at 52/44 is identical to what it was on PPP’s last national poll in late March. Meanwhile Congressional Republicans remain very unpopular with a 36/57 favorability rating.

Voters think Congress should be more focused on other major issues right now rather than Benghazi. By a 56/38 margin they say passing a comprehensive immigration reform bill is more important than continuing to focus on Benghazi, and by a 52/43 spread they think passing a bill requiring background checks for all gun sales should be a higher.

The PPP poll’s margin of error is +/-4.1%. PPP claims the poll was not paid for or authorized by any campaign or political organization.

Moral of this story:

Never, ever, underestimate the sheer utter stupidity of Americans.
