Will it soon be illegal to sell your stuff?

I’ve received several email alerts about this upcoming court case. If it flies, it will put Craigslist, Ebay,  Church Bazaars, Garage Sales, Used Car Lots and Secondhand Thrift Shops out of business..

  1. This is insanity. I read the other day an article in Vogue Patterns magazine (Oct/Nov. 2012), p. 58, that “In U.S. today, only 3% of what Americans buy is made on U.S. soil.”

Given the fact that so much of the consumer goods sold and bought in the U.S. were manufactured outside of America, (no) thanks to “outsourcing” of jobs, if the Supreme Court rules in favor of plaintiff John Wiley & Sons, that would make illegal not just eBay and yard sales, but also much of retail sales in America.

    • The issue that caused so much trouble with Gibson Guitar manufacturing in Tennessee had to do with using imported woods for their instruments.

  2. Well, there goes private property… unless you can design, build and sell your own iPods, etc., you’re going to be stuck buying stuff from cronies

  3. Absolute madness.

  4. I see bartering on the horizon.
