No, it is not from the Onion, and April 1st has come and gone for the year.
Noel Sheppard over at NB has the whole story here.
LOL – I wonder if this cover is going to cause Prissy Tingles to go totally numb?
After all, the object of his rabid affection recently turned down an interview.
Just when you thought things could not get any stranger…

Yep spreading across FB like wildfire. I think it’s just a momentary lapse in judgement by Wednesday they will be back to normal.
Has hell frozen?
Not yet DCG but it is getting a might “chilly”
OOps don’t say hell!
Wow. I’m incredulous. If this is true, then Hell indeed has frozen over. The POS might as well resign. Now.
holy cow it raised my eyebrows!!!! I was like , huh?
Yippee!!! This is unbelievable! Niall Ferguson cannot be taken lightly and will be impossible for the left to discredit. Why NEWSWEEK, of all leftist rags, has given his article Front Page exposure is astonishing and will be a DEVASTING blow to the POS and his handlers mainly because of Niall’s credentials. Check him out > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niall_Ferguson
Fogie,
You can link to the entire article from “Drudge”. I read it earlier and it is worth savoring…Another game changer in a week of them IMO…I am getting stoked for 11/6…Stephen Hayes also wrote a fantastic article on Ryan that you can also link to from Drudge…Romney plus Ryan minus Obama equals Recovery
Ah yes. A piece from the Brit Niall Ferguson. Whose works include “How the BRITISH made the modern world. A right winer who is a fellow at “Jesus Colege” and whose latest work in progress is about how wonderful Henry kissinger was.
And funnily enough, one of the people in his field (historian) who has mostly glowingly praised him is the marxist eric hobsbawm.
Most relevant to his newsweek article is Fergusons forays into “economics” since Obama was elected, and his famous exchanges (ie: being thouroughly smacked down) by nobel price winning economist Paul Krugman. Likewise this year Jonathan Portes of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research pointed out that subsequent events have proven Fergusons claims to be completely wrong.
Ah, but of course. The right is gleefully reporting this based on nothing but a few words. Without having even read the article nor apparently having any clue about the author. The state of politics today.
I read it, and it was brilliant, well written and even the simple minded who read “Newsweek” should be able to “get it”.
The “New York Slimes” hitman Paul Klugman has immediately been assigned to assassinate Niall Ferguson; he resorts to lies and distortion that the dour Scot will NOT tolerate. I have seen Niall in action many times and he has never lost a duel, mainly because he is committed to FACTS and is extremely articulate. This is going to be fun!
What a breakthrough…
It is Saturday, August 25, 2012 and I still haven’t seen a single issue of this Newsweek issue in the retail outlets/supermarkets in Northern Virginia. I had hoped to see it “in your face” at check-out! Has any FOTM member seen it anywhere?
We picked up a copy at Safeway yesterday.
DCG, thanks for the heads-up – it looks like it may possibly have gone gang busters! If so, maybe the Washington Post (owner of Newsweek) will now make a sharp right turn.
Grouchy, I just called my local B&N (have been calling every day this past week) and they now say they are “Sold Out”. I think it was last Wednesday when somebody in the store said “it has not come in yet” and on Thursday/Friday no one had seen it. Just curious. Also, not on display in the local Giant Food store.
Good news Grouchy! Then I owe YOU a pint and why stop at two?
Sounds like Newsweek may actually discover what supply/demand means!
In responding to DCG today, something niggled in the back of my brain afterwards apropos ownership of Newsweek and I re-checked to discover that the Washington Post sold Newsweek to a 92 yr old businessman in 2010 due to Newsweek’s plummeting revenues. Another quick change of hands and it is now owned by Barry Diller (IAC) who also owns The Daily Beast. He has formed The Newsweek/Daily Beast Company LLC. Anyway, I can’t see any connection between this change of ownership and this cover story of the POS. Diller is a committed leftist Hollywood democrat responsible for many stinking immoral sitcoms over the years.
For anyone interested in reading Niall Ferguson’s rebuttals to the leftists, here are a couple of links. By the way, I have never seen this issue of Newsweek in any store/bookstore ANYWHERE in DC/NOVA.
