Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth and (possibly extended) weekend! I was MIA for a bit as my boyfriend and I headed east of the mountains to visit my father (no cell service there). The weather was beautiful (sunny and hot) and we had fun shooting and four-wheeling! Here’s some pics from our trip.
Me shooting an AR-15 rifle
Dad shooting (notice all the toys in the truck!)
Shooting dad’s .30-06 rifle
Yellow blackbird in the bird feeder
Visitor in the backyard (we saw 5 deer total)
Lovely vacation, albeit too short!
Now back to blogging…
DCG

I thought I was the only one that called Life a four letter word! Guess we have more in common on here than I thought!
DCG-I always enjoy your vacations!!:)
Looks like you had a blast! (no pun intended). I can’t wait to get started as a firearms beginner…everybody duck!
You didn’t shoot that poor little birdy did ya?
No animals harmed by my shooting
It was fun… Moxie, you are going to love shooting!
Always glad when someone escapes for an adventure…
It’s good to teach those critters a little respect
I’ll bet your Dad was pretty happy to have you underfoot
for a bit
every now and then…I had to remind a 350 lb bear not to
run in front of cars on the way to town yesterday…but the
deer never seem to catch on.
I heard the temps were near 100 degrees in Eastern Washington. Welcome back to the cooler side of the Cascades. Hope you had a great time!
I’m trying to figure out in what state would one refer to “hot” weather in a positive sense. Here in Georgia summer is more miserable than having a stomach virus.
Try western Washington.
A couple weeks ago we had weather with highs of 105-106 (one business I drove by had an electronic sign saying it was currently 109, but on the news they only reported 106), and it was terribly humid.
We rarely get extreme heat, heck it’s only 59 degrees at lunchtime here, ugh!
Those high temps can be brutal…
Grouchy, High Five! I grew up there and spent MOST of my life there! 30 miles from there now! And you’re so right about the humidity…that Missouri River…
Grouchy, I remember St. Joseph’s hospital well…Mom was there many times. And I also had surgery at KU Med Center, but I was 14. You most definitely have a thing with “Joseph’s”! Now, big Heartland has taken over.
