A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs.
The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?”
She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.”
Her wise father asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean‘s office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back, “That’s a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!”
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the conservative side of the fence.”

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and Jesus silenced.
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he’s “offended.”

I thought that “conservative” and “liberal” were ideologies, and
that “repulican” and “democratiic” were affiliations. IE if your family is GOP then you possibly might vote GOP but you may lean to the left, and vice versa. So really it’s not as cut and dried as this article seems to be suggesting. Nowardays I see both parties going along to get along, and mostly agreeing with the greenies who are standing in the way of progress, and would have us back in the stone age if they could. Sexual orientation has now become a political tool for either side, which is disgusting, and common sense matters, such as providing decent healthcare, housing, education, roads, bridges, support for children, the disabled and the elderly, are also on the chopping block, and the Wall Street Crown and the oligarchs and their bankrupt banks are the darlings of presidents and congresses during the Clinton, Bush and now the Obama years. So in order to overturn the establishment, as Jesus overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple, we have to OVERTURN THE TABLES……………………….
Meaning, reinstate Glass Steagall and shut the oligarchs down. So be it if there are Dems and GOPers, Conservatives and Liberals who lose their bets on the derivatives and CDS or whatever other commodities or things they have stock in that is overinflated at the expense of US citizens.
Hoping that Romney, Paul or Santorum will overturn the tables as Obama siaid he was going to do is grasping at a straw, the problems we are facing at this moment are really severe and demand the immediate attention of all patriots. There will be a mixture of patriots, conservative, liberal, Dem or GOP that will exhibit the moral courage to stand up for the US Constitution and holiness, as defined in God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Our republic is a misture of ideologies, affiliations, ethnicities and cultures, united under one flag, the Star Spangled Banner. That is the beauty of this great republic and we need a leader and a congress that will follow in the footsteps of FDR and JKF who neither of them were pretending even to be perfect people, but who captured and promoted the spirit of the Founding Fathers. So, there it is,
eat the fish and spit out the bones.

So let me get this straight:
If you’re a straight conservative, you’ll let a gay couple get married?
If you’re pro-life, you’ll let a woman choose whether she bears a child?
If you’re able to keep your guns & beer, you’ll let someone else keep their pot?
And if you’re wealthy, you’ll pay the same tax rate as the rest of us?
If so, then maybe there is hope. If only we can compromise and let others choose their own life, liberty & happiness.
Gay couples can’t get married unless their states’ legislators approve it. In the 7 states where it is legal, it was done so through a state bill, not the voters. 31 states have voted on gay marriage and voters have never approved it. In case you didn’t notice, this is a Christian web site. We believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
As an anti-abortionist, I certainly don’t want to see a woman and the baby go through the trauma of an abortion. I have no right in her determining her decision. We can only educate those on the effects of ripping a baby from its mother’s womb.
Pot is illegal. Beer and guns are not. You want pot? Have at it…but be prepared to face the consequences of choosing to use an illegal drug.
If I’m wealthy I’m going to take advantage of every tax break I can get to keep my own money from the government. Every single rich DC critter takes advantage of the tax breaks too. Even Mr. Soros and Buffett. Don’t like the tax system? Then petition your Congresscritter to change them.

Hey I am pro-life and yes I think a woman has the right to choose if she bears a child or not! She can choose to have sex or not have sex, she can choose if she uses birth control or not, she can choose to make the man wear a condom or not! THAT is how she chooses to have a child or not.
