You should see the garden now. Not a pretty sight! But spring will soon be here. Already, cherry and plum trees in my neighborhood are in bloom. I plan to take some pics of those to post. They’ll cheer up our readers in snowy/icy climes — like you!

I think the “rose food” is the white discoloration on the Japanese stone lantern behind the rose. Take a closer look at the pic.
I am imagining a scratch-n-sniff…. ahhh!
