“Occupy Wall Street” is a Communist Movement

The Occupy Wall Street movement is now spreading to other cities across the United States.

Tomorrow, a big one is planned for Washington, D.C.

Look, I don’t like the global banksters either. But I’d have more sympathy for the demonstrators if their “demands” weren’t a tiresome retread of the same ol’ Marxist pipe dreams that conned hundreds of millions of people to their deaths — in the former Soviet Union, in Maoist China, in the short-lived Kampuchea, in Vietnam, in Eastern Europe, and in the gulags of China and North Korea today.

For a list of their outright communist demands — “Single payer universal healthcare!” “Free college education!” — see our DCG’s post “Occupy Wall Street – Their Demands.

Any remaining doubt that “Occupy Wall Street” is a commie movement is removed when you look at the list of those who showed up to the demonstration yesterday, Oct. 5 (h/t Meredith Jessup of The Blaze, who quipped “Not surprisingly, many of the usual suspects“):

  1. Who are these people that have time to hang out all day & “protest”? They are silly to think Wall Street is to blame. Granted they have a hand in it but the root is the fatcats in DC making up the rules that benefit themselves & their cronies.

And exactly how many fatcats are in tight with Skippy? Plenty…

  2. I’ll take ‘Commies are Losers’ for a $100, Alex… LOL ;)

  3. More government and handouts, and less freedom and personal responsibility– $20/hour, free pot and mellow feelings for everyone– now! (Paid for by SEIU, AFSCME and MoveOn.org.)

  4. When are they going to put the blame where it belongs? The Socialist and the Markist Unions are the the biggest part to blame, the Federal Reserve is right there with them, causing the bubbles in our economy, but the unions have put us in a whole that we may never get out of. From the first duel wheel truck I bought in 1976 for $5,200 and 12 years later the same truck costs $32,867 , the unions did all that in 12 years! That is a increase of $2,305 a year, and that is just ONE industry. Think about all the other companies they have their crooked hands in! Think about the common sense of having Union Government Workers, DAAAA, you have a gravy job and need a union too? Same with teachers the only thing the union did for the teachers is let the bad teachers make just as much as a good one, and you can’t fire the bad ones. And the last one that has screwed the citizens, is our own government, to Hell with the citizen, but bail out the assholes that caused the problem anyway. Semper Fi.

  5. Yeah Vic!
My head hurts from all of this….this is just my view for my corner of the world….
As an artist I find it amazing that virtually all of my creative compatriots……authors, illustrators, actors, musicians…..the supposed free thinkers and the “live and let live, tolerant lovers of freedom” are supporters of totalitarian thought.
I don’t spend much time on FaceBook, virtually all of my FB “friends” are fellow artists and illustrators and authors and it hurts me to see the whole hog support of the “Wall St. protesters”…….the unbridled hate of “banks and corporations”
Sadly, I don’t speak my mind there because as an illustrator it is difficult enough in this economy to pay the rent and keep the utilities on and the animals fed and I truly and honestly fear that if my true feelings were known that I could literally be “blacklisted” by my fellow creatives…..there is a palpable level of hate towards “Republicans, Conservatives, the Tea Party et all” that is disturbing.
My question would be ” how many of these protesters are blowing off deadlines with publishers to sit around with these mobs?”
the answer is none of them, it’s such a load, so hypocritical… it’s a lot easier to “protest” and rail against “them” than to lock yourself away in a studio and work 7 days a week, 12 hours or more a day in pursuit of a dream.Yes, the money’s no good right now but no one ever held a gun to my head and forced me to be an artist!
I don’t know one of my fellow authors or illustrators who would turn down a contract with Harper Collins…an “evil corporation” actually owned by Rupert Murdoch.
“The Emperor wears such a glorious suit of fine clothing” says the mob…..
“no”, I say, here at least where I’m safe….”he’s bare ass naked and ugly to boot!”

Never hurts to sell the merchandise well (“workers’ paradise” and all that) but not having to eat your Brussels Sprouts or clean up your room is the primary hook and many people believe it’s sincere.

  6. This is literally frightening! Thank you, Dr. Eowyn, for doing the research in composing this list! It is amazing and also frightening! Your last comment is so meaningful and brings such sorrow, to remember the hundreds of millions of martyrs killed under Communist regimes. People – WAKE UP!!!

  7. As I watched Sky news last nite straight away I said to the wife: Look the usual guys none of them ever worked a day in their life! Typicla! Now as we speak the UN (OWG) are trying to force Ireland into passing a “human right bill” – Abortion. Tomorrow is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and I’ll be going to Dublin to pray outside the Maria Stopes referral clinic for an end to abortion. Obama is the greatest prolicider ever. I know this is wrong; but how come the likes of him never get aborted. God forgive me for saying that. God bless to you all brotheres and sisters.

  8. Occupy Wall Street and the Occupy [insert location here] in general still contains many problematic aspects, but it nevertheless presents an opportunity for the Left to engage with some of the nascent anti-capitalist sentiment taking shape there. So far it has been successful in enlisting the support of a number of leftish celebrities, prominent unions, and young activists, and has received a lot of media coverage. Hopefully, the demonstrations will lead to a general radicalization of the participants’ politics, and a commitment to the longer-term project of social emancipation. To this end, I have written up a rather pointed Marxist analysis of the OWS movement so far that you might find interesting:

“Reflections on Occupy Wall Street: What It Represents, Its Prospects, and Its Deficiencies”

THE LEFT IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE LEFT!

  9. Why aren’t the candidates going there to make their presence known to influence the young people that don’t know why they are there~~~~Why doesn’t the Tea Party make a statement by joining the protesters ~~~move the crowd to the the white house! Remove
    Soetoro/Obama now.

  10. I would like to say “thankyou” for using the appropriate language, if more people do not come to reality with the word “Communist” we are in trouble. This is exactly what they are. They must be removed from our govt. entirely.

  11. We need to get rid of the Federal Reserve that has stolen America, and getting rid of the crooks and cronies out of Washington. These kids do not know what the hell they are protesting…

  12. i know these people have not clue what living under a communist government is, they would not be able to do the protest they are doing right now and they would be shut down immediately go figure…
