According to Rosa Koire, Redevelopment Agencies are a threat to property rights and a large component of the ICLEI / Agenda 21 Program. It’s good to see California Rep. McClintock is taking a stand against them! This would be a great issue for Tea Partiers to take up. ~LTG

Therefore, the Agenda 21 for culture is a tool to turn culture into the forth pillar of sustainable development. This confirms the importance of having solid and autonomous cultural policies as well as the establishment of bridges to other dominions of the governance.”
As if the first three pieces of Agenda 21 weren’t enough.
If you go to your local town or county’s website and look up their budget, strategic plan or search the word “sustainable” you will probably find a link to their ICLEI committment to implement Agenda 21. I just looked up Shoreline, WA the little Seattle suburb that calls itself a city but is actually a couple of parallel arterials with some strip malls that doesn’t actually have a downtown “city center.” It’s not a destination in and of itself, just a collection of single family residential neighborhoods with some apartment complexes where I grew up and raised my kids.
Their plan was adopted in 2008. It runs 186 pages and takes 10 minutes to download as a PDF file. The plan mentions ICLEI 18 times! If dinky little Shoreline’s got one, I shudder to think what bigger towns have!
McClintock is that rare, very rare, California Congressman who is intelligent, talks sense and cents, and has rock-solid conservative principles. I wish he is Governor.
