ObamaFinance Bill a Race-Gender Trojan Horse

ObamaFinance or the so-called Finance Reform bill is now law.

This afternoon, the Senate passed the bill that the House had already approved.

There are many things wrong with ObamaFinance, only one of which is that it is a Trojan horse for race and gender. The bill will “create” some 30 diversity czar offices, thereby further engorging the already grotesque federal government bureaucracy. And like the RINOs that they are, Senators Scott Brown (Massachusetts) and Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe (Maine) support ObamaFinance.

Just what we need: Even more government bureaucracy and employees to suck the life out of America.

More ‘czars,’ racial quotas – financial reform?

A Trojan horse for race and gender quotas — that’s how one analyst is describing a provision in the recently passed House version of the financial reform bill. 

Section 342 of the Dodd-Frank bill [PDF] mandates that each federal financial regulatory agency create a new position entitled “an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion.” The goal of the role, among other duties, is to address employment and the contracting of diversity matters. The bill would establish about 30 new diversity czar offices within the federal government.
 
Diana Furchtgott-Roth, senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and former chief economist for the U.S. Department of Labor, sees the provision as a Trojan horse for race and gender quotas. “They’re going to have to have, say, certain percent women, so they look for women irrespective of their qualifications — [and] a certain percent African-American, so they look for African-Americans irrespective of their qualifications,” she explains. “That’s my concern.”
 
Roth points out that Cabinet-level departments already have individual Offices of Civil Rights and Diversity. In addition, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance are charged with enforcing racial and gender discrimination laws. The analyst says lawmakers “just don’t care” that the new bill creates unnecessary duplication.
 
“They don’t care that there will be less efficiency in these firms. They don’t care that it’ll cost the federal government more to have 29 different offices of minority and women inclusion,” she laments. “[And] they don’t care that when an African-American will be devalued if people think they got their job because of their gender or their race, rather than because of their qualifications.”
